2012 Kicker Rankings

1UP Fantasy Player Rankings: Kicker

  1. David Akers (SF) – The inability of the offense to convert, the defense’s incredible field position game, and Akers’ solidity all combined to turn 2011 into a perfect storm for fantasy kicking points. All signs point to him being the best kicker in the league again.
  2. Stephen Gostkowski (NE) – Akers was in a tier by himself, but Gostkowski was nothing to scoff at. Despite only converting 29 FG’s, he was able to bolster his stats through a remarkable 59 PATs behind the juggernaut Patriots offense.
  3. Sebastian Janikowski (Oak) - One of the few kickers with gamebreaking potential due to his incredible leg. With a more stable offense featuring an acclimated Carson Palmer, expect his 31 FG, 39 PAT, 2011 campaign to improve, and keep in mind in standard scoring formats, a 50+ yard fieldgoal is worth only one point less than a touchdown.  Last year he kicked 10 while fighting hamstring problems.
  4. Mason Crosby (GB)
  5. Alex Henery (Phi)
  6. Garrett Hartley (NO)
  7. Dan Bailey (Dal)
  8. Mike Nugent (Cin)
  9. Robbie Gould (Chi)
  10. Nate Kaeding (SD)
  11. Jason Hanson (Det)
  12. Matt Bryant (Atl)
  13. Justin Tucker – (Bal)
  14. Dan Carpenter (Mia)
  15. Rob Bironas (Ten)
